Hockey Olympian Baljeet Singh Saini: Chose his career in the den of Football and Cricket

Baljeet Singh SainiHe was born and brought up in Bengal and had to shift to Punjab to make his career. In the den where Football reigns, and when Saurav Ganguly has raised the expectations of the people, Baljit had to relocate in order to give himself exposure and practice more.

He followed the footsteps of his brother and joined Punjab & Sind Bank before being selected for the Indian National Hockey Team.

He believes that the success of any team depends upon the consistency of players and how long they stay in team so that they could develop better understanding between each other. Hockey being a team game excels if the players enjoy each others’ company.

He says that it was his choice to pick Hockey as his forte though he played Cricket and Football also.
